Most People
Don't Realize They Have Experienced Hypnosis
Did
you know that Hypnosis is a naturally occurring
state of mind
that each of us have experienced without
even realizing that we were in HYPNOSIS?
When you are deeply involved in an activity
or project, and you are unaware of the sounds
and people around you, that is a light state
of hypnosis!
When you are driving and somehow wind up
at your destination, but can't remember
getting there,
you have entered the hypnotic state. That
is such a common experience,
that it is referred to as highway hypnosis!
When you are driving, your eyes are open,
you easily change lanes, yet you might just
be
deep in thought, so the music you are listening
to and signs you pass fade from awareness.
The act of driving becomes unconscious.
Your automatic mind (your subconsious)
is driving the car
and your conscious mind is thinking about
something else.
That is a naturally ocurring state of hypnosis.
Hypnosis can happen automatically, like
the above examples, or it can occur intentionally,
through the directed efforts of a hypnotherapist.

How
Hypnosis Works
Hypnosis
is a direct path to the subconscious mind
where habits, abilities and limitations reside.
By removing blocks, a person gains greater
control over him/herself,
and increases his/her ability to achieve goals
and release habits.
Hypnosis
is effective because it works with the subconscious
area
which is estimated to be approximately 90%
of our mind.
That is the area where our imagination and
our associations live.
|
Why
Hypnosis
Works
Our
conscious mind is only about 10% of our
mind.
This is the area where our logic, reason,
and willpower live.
Most people use their willpower (the 10%)
to try to achieve their goals.
They could
more easily accomplish their goals by engaging
their more
powerful (the 90%) subconscious mind!!!!
Using willpower alone, we fight a difficult
battle. The conscious mind is says "I
can do this"
while the subconscious mind generates all
the doubts and fears,
making it difficult to reach their goals.
Hypnosis accesses the strongest part of
the mind, the subconscious area.
The mind is then trained while in Hypnosis,
to form new and better associations.
Those positive associations soon integrate
with our beliefs, allowing us
to build
new habits and achieve our goals.
